The primary role of a digital marketer is to define, design, build and implement digital campaigns across a variety of online and social media platforms to drive customer acquisition, customer engagement and customer retention. A digital marketer will typically be working as part of a team, in which they will have responsibility for some of the straightforward elements of the overall marketing plan or campaign. The marketer will work to marketing briefs and instructions. They will normally report to a digital marketing manager, a marketing manager or an IT Manager.

They document and report the results of data analysis activities making recommendations to improve business performance. They have a good understanding of data structures, database systems and procedures and the range of analytical tools used to undertake a range of different types of analyses.

This Business Ready Data Scientist programme, developed in partnership with The University of Buckingham combines the technical capability required to interpret and model complex data sets with vital business context allowing participants to present their findings and drive real, valuable change. This programme has been built into a master’s degree apprenticeship, allowing employers to fund this vital upskilling using the apprenticeship levy.
